My Year in Review (2010)

I'm starting to realize that the more of these that I write, the more I want to say that "I can't believe it's the end of the year already". Years just seem to go by faster and faster the older I get and this year is no different. It's not as though it flies by in a bad way, it just sort of melds together the more I change and suffice it to say that my life and it's daily habits are dramatically different than they were 365 days ago. This year was special to me in a few ways and I think it's important to note that this new years not only marks the end of this year for me but a very special decade as it was only ten years ago that i was in 9th grade and the world brought in the new millennium. It's also been seven years since I graduated high school, five years since I returned from Iraq, three years since my son was born, and two years since I left the Army.

This year in particular had me evaluate a lot of things I have been doing. As you can read on this website (if you go back far enough), I was shocked to one day wake up and question my life's path and so I had set out to change it. My trip to Chicago was an important one. I basically went from working a 9 to 5 job in an office every day to being a full time college student, as there is no other way to finish school in the time required in order to become a military pilot. A lot of what I've done this year has been a risk but one that I've calculated a thousand times over in my head.

In any matter, this is something I'm going to finish later as this day hasn't afforded me enough time to truly sit down and write this all out in the depth that I really wanted to... so for now it's off with the best friends a man could ask for to celebrate life for a fifth year in a row with a cigar and a toast to the new year.

Be safe ladies and gentlemen, and Happy New Year!
