Virgin Galactic Names First Pilot

The world's first civilian owned space program has named it's first Pilot today, British Pilot David Mackay. He will be the first "space tourism" captain, commanding flights that cost roughly £125,000 per flight. I always wondered if it would be NASA or the civilian market that would actually bring space within reach of the common man. These last years have brought us our answer. While the Russians have already commercialized their space program and opened it up to millionaires, Virgin Galactic has bridged the money gap and made it possible for a middle class citizen with a space mission to reach for the stars.
